A coating solution (3) is injected from nozzles (2a, 2b) in the horizontal direction to coat, with the coating solution (3), lens surfaces (1a, 1b) of a spectacle lens substrate (1) so arranged as to orient an optical axis (C) in the horizontal direction (step S2a). The spectacle lens substrate (1) is rotated at a first rotational speed about the optical axis (C) serving as the rotation center, and the coating solution (3) is spread on the lens surfaces by the centrifugal force (step S2b). The spectacle lens substrate (1) is rotated at a second rotational speed higher than the first rotational speed to blow away an excess (3a) of the coating solution (3) from the spectacle lens substrate (1) by the centrifugal force (step S3). Highly uniform films can be formed on the lens surfaces of the spectacle lens. |
