The vehicle of the present invention can comprise: a steering detecting unit for detecting steering information according to the steering by a driver; a lane detecting unit for detecting information on a lane in front of the vehicle; and a control unit for determining the driving tendency of the driver based on the steering information or the lane information to determine the steering intention of the driver based on the determined driving tendency. According to the vehicle and the control method for the same, an unnecessary alert can be reduced by determining if the status is a lane change status by an intention of the driver or a lane escape status by carelessness, and the reliability of the lane escape alert system can be increased. In addition, the role of alert on a lane escape or the role of assisting to stay in the lane can be more effectively played by applying the determined driving tendency of each driver to the lane escape alert system. |
