<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a delay until AF focusing or false focusing even if a tracking area used for an AF operation switches between frames. <P>SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus captures an image of a subject and outputs image data with a capturing part, detects a face part of the subject from the image data outputted by the capturing part with a face part detecting part, tracks the subject on the basis of the face part and a peripheral part other than the face part of the subject, and performs an AF operation on the basis of first image data on an area corresponding to the face part or second image data on an area corresponding to the peripheral part other than the face part. When detection of the face part is effective, the imaging apparatus performs the AF operation on the basis of the first image data on the area corresponding to the face part, and when the face part is no longer detected effectively, performs the AF operation on the basis of the second image data on the area corresponding to the peripheral part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
