<p>Provided are a compact zoom lens able to achieve both increased compactness and a higher variable power and also satisfactorily correct aberrations, and an image pickup device using this lens. The zoom lens has a function able to form an object image on the imaging plane of a solid-state imaging element, and includes in order from the object side a first lens group having a positive refractive power, a second lens group having a negative refractive power, a third lens group having a positive refractive power, a fourth lens group having a negative refractive power, and a fifth lens group having a positive refractive power. Zooming is performed by changing the intervals between lens groups, the fourth lens group includes in order from the object side a positive lens and a negative lens, an air interval is formed between the positive lens and the negative lens, and the fourth lens group satisfies a predetermined conditional expression.</p> |
