A jack or plug comprises a detachable insulating cover or handle including a translucent or transparent elastic plastics sleeve 4 for covering the soldered or hooked joint of a supply lead (2, Fig. 2), with a lug (3, Fig. 3) on a tubular resilient contact (1, Fig. 3). The contact (1) with lead (2) attached is threaded through a loop 8 on an open-ended fastening cap 6 integral with the sleeve 4 and threaded into the sleeve 4 as shown. The cap 6 is then swung about a flexible hinge 5 so that a locking wedge 9 is inserted into the sleeve 4 to engage between the lead (2) and contact (1) and the loop 8 is held in a recess 10 of the sleeve. |
