The present invention relates to a method for measuring a gap (a) between blade tips of rotor blades (40) on a rotor and a casing (41) annularly surrounding the rotor blade tips, when the rotor rotates. In the method, the gap is measured by using at least one separation measurement device (1) which measures in contactless fashion. Moreover, the gap measuring device (1) device for carrying this mentioned method includes: a pipe-shaped housing (2); a sensor which measures in contactless fashion and which is placed in the housing (2) such that the sensor moves in an axial direction between an operation position, in which a tip part of the sensor protrudes outward from the gap measuring device (1), and a return position, in which a tip part of a gap sensor (7) is placed inside the gap measuring device (1); and a combination device (8) formed to combine the gap sensor (7) at least in its operation position. |
