A power transmission system of a hybrid electric vehicle is disclosed. The power transmission system of a hybrid electric vehicle comprises: an input shaft into which power from an engine is inputted; an output gear; a first planetary gear set which is arranged on the input shaft; a second planetary gear set which is arranged on the same axis as the first planetary gear set; a third planetary gear set which is arranged on the same axis as the second planetary gear set; first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh rotary shafts; and three frictional elements which selectively connect the rotary shafts to each other or selectively connect each rotary shaft to a transmission housing. Therefore, the present invention suppresses the conversion into an ENG mode and maximally uses the power from the engine.
