A system for transmitting and encrypting information is described. The system includes at a first location: a signal generator 120,124 that generates a signal and performs alternations of the signal, a first dedicated chronometer 126 is connected the signal generator and a transmitter 128 connected to the signal generator 120,124 transmits the signal. A detector 132 at a second location detects the alternations of the signal when it is received at a second location, a second dedicated chronometer 136 is connected to the detector. The detector is able to determine a series of time periods corresponding to the times between signal alterations. By this manner information may be transmitted as a series of time periods representing numerical values. In embodiments, the transmitted numerical values may be encrypted by associating different weightings to time units in a manner that would be known to transmitting and receiving side. |
