<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an industrially advantageous method of producing a sulfolane compound. <P>SOLUTION: This invention relates to the method of producing the sulfolane compound expressed by the formula (3) by hydrogenating the sulfolene compound obtained by reacting a conjugated diene compound with sulfur dioxide, in the presence of a hydrogenation catalyst.
