The crane comprises: a gantry (1), a movable trolley (2), a main hoisting system (3) mounted on a movable trolley (2) and provided with hoisting cables (32) of a container carrier rig (33), wound in a first direction on at least one motorized drum (31, 31 a); and a counterweight system (4) which comprises, at least: a counterweight cable (41) with a first end wound onto a motorized drum (31, 31a) in a direction opposite that of the hoisting cables, and a second end attached to the movable trolley or wound on a motorized drum; said cable (41) forming a loop of variable length which comprises a horizontal section (44) arranged along the crossbeam (13) of the gantry, and at least one vertical end section (45) from which a counterweight (46) is suspended by means of a pulley (47). |
