1,089,596. Valves. LUCIFER S.A. Aug. 16, 1966 [Aug. 27. 1965], No. 36581/66. Heading F2V. An electrically actuated valve comprises a movable core 13, a permanent magnet 12 and a coil 20. The core is moved towards the permanent magnet 12 against the action of a spring by current applied to the coil which modifies the permanent magnetization of the magnet. One end of the coil is connected to terminal 51 while the other end is connected to terminals 53, 55 through diodes 54, 56, a resistance 57 is also arranged in series with the resistor 56. By applying pulses to the terminals the field in the magnet 12 is varied to move the coil 13. Fig. 4 (not shown) indicates the magnetizing curves resulting from the pulses. As shown the cores 13 carry valve closure portions at each end to control the supply and exhaust of fluid to and from a chamber 37 to actuate a diaphragm controlling a main valve 29.
|
