[Also in Division H1] An excess voltage and/or current protective arrangement comprises solid state switching devices connected between the conductors of the system to be protected and earth and/or further solid state switching devices connected in series in the system conductors. The switching devices connecting the conductors to earth have high impedances under normal applied voltages but low impedances under excess voltage conditions whilst the switching devices connected in series in the conductors have low impedances under normal current conditions and high impedances under excess current conditions.
