摘要 1,090,023. Steadying devices. K.L. ALLINSON. Nov. 10, 1965 [Nov 11, 1964], No. 46023/64. Heading G2A. A steadying device for a hand-held camera or other optical equipment comprises a spool having two discs 1, 2 connected by a hub portion. Rotatably mounted on this hub is an inner spool comprising discs 5, 6 connected by a hollow shaft 7. Disc 1 carries a threaded rod 3 suitable for screwing into the tripod bush of a camera. One end of a length of cord 8 is secured to shaft 7. Slidable over this assembly is an outer ring (9, Fig. 4, not shown) having a peripheral slot (11). The other end of the cord 8 passes through this slot. When not in use, the cord is wound on spool 5, 6, 7 which is enclosed in ring (9), and the device may still be left attached to the camera for convenience. When required for use, ring (9) is pulled off the spool assembly and allowed to fall, the cord unwinding accordingly. When fully unwound, it reaches to the ground. The camera operator may then place his foot on the ring and draw the cord taut, so tending to minimize camera movement.
