The present invention relates to a method and a graphics system for performing graphics processing. The method and graphics system can reuse pixel data, generated in a first frame, in a second frame by using advection. The method for performing graphics processing includes the following steps: storing data of pixels of a previous frame for a current frame; updating velocities for pixels of the current frame individually; determining positions of the previous frame, corresponding to the pixels of the current frame; and reusing the pixels of the previous frame as data of the pixels of the current frame.
