Disclosed are a wavelength-adaptive fog removing device for an image and a method thereof. The wavelength-adaptive fog removing device for an image includes: a segmentation unit for subdividing an input image including a fog element and generating a label image including a plurality of area classes consisting of a sky area class, a ground area class, and a vertical area class; a transmission map generation unit for generating a transmission map for removing the fog element by using the input image and the label image; a fog value estimation unit for estimating a fog value, corresponding to the fog element, by using the input image and the sky area class; and an image recovery unit for generating a recovered image by removing the fog element by using the transmission map and the fog value. |
