<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for purifying brine, capable of effectively and efficiently removing aromatic compound contained in brine, and highly purifying the brine to a degree capable of being used in the salt electrolysis by an ion-exchange membrane method. <P>SOLUTION: The method for purifying brine includes (1) a first step in which after the pH of the brine containing the aromatic compound is adjusted to 8 to 14, the brine is made contact with activated carbon; (2) a second step in which after a mineral acid is added to the brine obtained by the first step, the pH of the brine is adjusted to 0 to 7, and the brine is made contact with the activated carbon; and (3) a third step in which oxidation agent is added to the brine obtained by the second step to oxidize and decompose the organic compound. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
