<p>Provided is a magnetic recording medium with improved adhesion between a DLC film and an organic fluoride film or a production method therefor. One aspect of the present invention is a production method for a magnetic recording medium in which a magnetic layer (12) is formed on a non-magnetic substrate (11), a DLC film (13) is formed on the magnetic layer, plasma treatment is performed on the surface of the DLC film thereby to scrape the surface of the DLC film off to the extent of 1 nm or less, and an organic fluoride film (15) is formed on the DLC film, the method being characterized in that the DLC film after the plasma treatment has the surface with a water contact angle of 50° or less, and the processing gas supplied when performing the plasma treatment contains at least one of nitrogen gas, oxygen gas, hydrogen gas, inert gas or a mixture of these.</p> |
