There is provided an information processing apparatus including: a determination unit which determines whether or not to use multicast distribution or broadcast distribution for a supply of a content; and an updating unit which, in the case where it is determined to use the multicast distribution or the broadcast distribution by the determination unit, updates control information related to unicast distribution of the content so as to use the multicast distribution or the broadcast distribution for a supply of the content.
