<p>When starting fuel injection in this dimethyl ether fuel-using engine, before fuel injection into the cylinders of an engine (1) is started, ignition due to fuel that has leaked into the cylinders is checked for, and if ignition of leaked fuel is detected, starting of the engine (1) is stopped, and the aforementioned check for ignition resulting from leaked fuel is performed by checking for changes in the engine speed (Ne) by means of an engine speed sensor when cranking is started by a starter (38). By this means, a starting method of a dimethyl ether fuel-using engine is provided in which, before starting fuel injection in a dimethyl ether fuel-using engine, ignition due to leaked fuel is checked for and, if ignition of leaked fuel is detected, starting of the engine is stopped and an alarm can be simultaneously issued; also, a dimethyl ether fuel-using engine is provided.</p> |
