1. A method for allocating uplink resources to a user agent (UA), comprising:
an access node allocating a disparate set of uplink resources to be used by the UA to transmit data to the access node at different times, wherein the access node allocates the disparate set of uplink resources in response to receiving only a single resource request from the UA, wherein the access node specifies a plurality of different non-periodic subframes in which the UA is to use each of the respective uplink resources, wherein the disparate set of uplink resources are located in different frequencies within the plurality of different non-periodic subframes.
