Provided herein are pharmaceutical formulations, methods, and systems for the cosmetic alteration of fat deposits. Methods comprise administering a pharmaceutical formulation of a long-acting beta-2 adrener-gic receptor agonist, for example, salmeterol, that is suitable for subcuta-neous administration.
