A coordinate input device of the present invention comprises a sensing panel having a plurality of sensing strip antennas, and a sensing control circuit that controls the sensing panel to sense a touch input, calculates corresponding touch input coordinates, and provides the touch input coordinates to a host. The coordinate input device provides a scan signal for detecting touch input coordinates of an electrostatic object to the sensing strip antennas. At this time, the coordinate input device calculates touch input coordinates based on a variation in electrical characteristic values related to the impedance matching of the scan signal generated in response to the touch input coordinates of the electrostatic object, and provides the touch input coordinates to the host. The coordinate input device of the present invention provides enhanced touch sensing performance by calculating the touch input coordinates based on the variation in electrical characteristic values related to the impedance matching of the scan signal in response to the touch input of the electrostatic object. The coordinate input device may also be configured to sense a touch input of a stylus pen with a built-in resonant circuit. For example, the sensing control circuit may also be configured to sense the respective touch inputs of the electrostatic object and the stylus pen by using an identical sensing panel without an additional digitizer panel for sensing the touch input of the stylus pen. The coordinate input device with enhanced touch sensing performance according to the present invention may provide enhanced touch sensing performance by detecting the touch input of the electrostatic object using an impedance matching circuit. In addition, the coordinate input device may detect the touch input of the stylus pen having a resonant circuit and the touch input of the electrostatic object by using one identical sensing panel and a switching function of a touch sensing mode. |
