<p>A subterranean formation, such as a low permeability gas reservoir, may be subjected to hydraulic fracturing by use of a well treatment fluid which is void of a viscosifying polymer and which contains, as a friction reducer, a high molecular weight polyacrylate of the formula: (A)a(B)b(C)c, wherein A is a dialkylaminoalkyl acrylate monomer or its quaternary ammonium or acid addition salt, B is a dialkylaminoalkyl methacrylate monomer or its quaternary ammonium or acid addition salt, C is a monomer that is polymerizable with A or B, a as an integer of 0 or greater, b is an integer of 0 or greater, c is an integer greater than 0 and either a or b, or both, must be 1 or greater. The well treatment fluid further contains water and an alcohol. The well treatment fluid is particularly applicable for use in slickwater fracturing operations.</p> |
