PROCESS FOR INITIATING A WEB WINDING PROCESS

Processes for initiating a web winding process, more particularly processes for initiating a web winding process that doesn't require the use of a threading rope or manually threading a tail of a web like known processes are provided. The new process for initiating a web winding process includes the steps of initiating operation of a web winding component, introducing a web into the web winding component, initiating operation of a core feed such that a first core is fed from the core feeder to the operating web winding component, and winding the web about the first core to form a first wound web roll.
