[Also in Division F4] A fitting for an elongated light source 4 consists of a parabolic reflector closed at the front by a cover glass and having a gap at the rear through which the source, which may be a quartz-iodine lamp, is moved into position, the source being carried in semi-cylindrical supports 219, 220 on a backplate carried by hinges 221, 222 on the supporting member for the reflector which is itself pivoted to supporting legs. Arms 203, 204 are pivoted to the backplate and carry lampholders 201, 202 at their upper ends. The lower ends of the arms are connected by stiff wire springs 209, 210 to a common operating member 213 rotatably mounted on a shaft 214. The backplate and the reflector are provided with cooling fins. |
