According to an embodiment of the present invention, a liquid crystal display device includes: a first substrate; a gate line and a data line formed on the first substrate; a first electrode and a second electrode formed on the first substrate which overlap with each other with a first insulating film therebetween; a light blocking extension formed on the first substrate; a spacer formed on the light blocking extension; and a first alignment layer formed on the spacer and initially aligned in the alignment direction. A flat surface of the light blocking extension includes at least one side aligned in the alignment direction. |
