<p>Allyl or methallyl alcohol is prepared by reduction of acrolein or methacrolein in the liquid phase with hydrogen at a temperature of from 200 DEG to 300 DEG C. in the presence, as catalyst, of a solution of a mixture of copper and cadmium soaps. The term "soaps" includes salts of saturated and unsaturated C6-C22 fatty acids.</p> |
