According to one embodiment of the disclosed present invention, a motor driving apparatus includes: a rectifying unit rectifying an AC voltage and an AC current supplied from a power supply device into a DC voltage and a DC current; a smoothing unit removing ripples included in the DC voltage and the DC current; a power converting unit receiving the DC current from the smoothing unit, converting the DC current into an AC current, and providing a driving current to the motor; and a control unit controlling the power conversion unit such that a phase of the driving current changes in accordance with the velocity of rotation of the motor and a torque load.
