摘要 The subject disclosure is directed towards a pre-cognitive interactive music system that dynamically generates and adjusts music based on a user's interactions with a videogame or other interactive system. When a user is predicted as getting close to an upcoming event, audio clips are dynamically selected (e.g., via metric modulation) based upon an estimated time to reach the event. The audio clips are stitched together and played as prelap music as the user approaches the event, and the clips may be varied if the estimated time changes due to user interaction. Drawdown music is similarly selected as the user completes or moves away from an event. Also described is the changing of the playing rate to adjust the music, and the use of harmonic modulation to change the music's key over time to increase or lower perceived suspense as the user approaches the event or moves away from it, respectively.
