The present invention relates to a vinyl-sulfone-based electrolyte for a nickel-rich positive electrode material, and to a lithium secondary battery comprising the same. The vinyl-sulfone-based electrolyte is to suppress degradation phenomenon of the nickel-rich positive electrode material at a high temperature, and swelling and decrease in the performance of a battery due to such effects. The present invention provides a lithium secondary battery comprising: a nickel-rich positive electrode material; and a vinyl-sulfone-based electrolyte containing 1-100 wt% of vinyl-sulfone-based material. The vinyl-sulfone-based material in the vinyl-sulfone-based electrolyte forms a synthetic sulfone-based and polyolefin-based coating film on a surface of the nickel-rich positive electrode material in the initial charging.
