The present invention relates to a steel for a cold working tool comprising: 0.70-0.90 mass% of C; 0.60-0.80 mass% of Si; 0.30-0.50 mass% of Mn; 0.30 mass% or less of P; 0.030 mass% or less of S; 0.01-0.25 mass% of Cu; 0.01-0.25 mass% of Ni; 6.0-7.0 mass% of Cr; 2.50-3.00 mass% of Mo+1/2W; 0.70-0.85 mass% of V; 0.020 mass% or less of N; 0.0100 mass% or less of O; 0.100 mass% or less of Al; and the remainder containing Fe and inevitable impurities satisfying 1.66(Mo+1/2W)+V < 5.7 mass%. |
