Tiered Approach to Radio Frequency (RF) Co-existence |
摘要 |
Various embodiments implemented on a mobile communication device leverage the availability of a plurality of coexistence mitigation strategies to choose a coexistence mitigation strategy that may be most successful in avoiding and/or mitigating coexistence interference between an aggressor RAT and a victim RAT. In response to determining that a coexistence event between the aggressor RAT and the victim RAT is occurring or is about to occur, a processor on the mobile communication device may determine various priority criteria related to the mobile communication device's current circumstances (e.g., network resources, device resources, etc.) and/or related to each available coexistence mitigation strategy. Using these determined priority criteria, the device processor may select and implement a coexistence mitigation strategy that may be the most suitable for avoiding/mitigating coexistence interference between the aggressor RAT and the victim RAT given the current condition, circumstances, etc. of the mobile communication device. |

1. A method for selecting a coexistence mitigation strategy in response to detecting an occurrence of a coexistence event between a first radio access technology (RAT) and a second RAT in a mobile communication device, comprising:
determining a first set of priority criteria for a plurality of coexistence mitigation strategies during the coexistence event, wherein the first set of priority criteria includes performance criteria of the first RAT and the second RAT, respectively; determining a first ranking for the plurality of coexistence mitigation strategies based on a degree to which each coexistence mitigation strategy satisfies the first set of priority criteria during the coexistence event; implementing a highest ranked coexistence mitigation strategy in the first ranking; determining, for each implemented coexistence mitigation strategy, whether measured performance of the first RAT and the second RAT satisfy the first set of priority criteria after implementing the coexistence mitigation strategy; and implementing a next highest ranked coexistence mitigation strategy in the first ranking when the measured performance of the first and second RAT does not satisfy the first set of priority criteria. |
