The invention provides a controlling method and a printing method of a 3D printer with more than four printing heads. The controlling method comprises the following steps: acquiring the section shape of a workpiece; determining the minimum distance between two printing heads to be delta; determining the number of printing heads to be i which is an even number more than or equal to 4; determining (K-1) longitudinal extension lines which are parallel one another in the section, wherein the (K-1) longitudinal extension lines are capable of equally dividing the section into K longitudinal sub-regions which are equal in areas, K is equal to Ni, and N is a positive integer; setting a transversely extending straight line in each longitudinal sub-region so as to divide each longitudinal sub-region into two final sub-regions which are equal in areas; connecting all transversely extending straight lines end to end so as to form a transversely extending broken line; forming a round intermediate conflict region by taking each intersection point of the broken line and the longitudinal extension lines as a circle center and the value not less than that shown in the specification as a radius; and forming 2K non-conflict sub-regions by the periphery of the circle, the broken line and the longitudinal extension lines. |
