According to the present invention, a data providing system using a text message comprises: a user terminal which receives a response message from an acquaintance agent terminal if a roaming application pre-recorded in the user terminal is executed; the acquaintance agent terminal which converts received response information into a response message of an SMS or MMS type and transmits the response message to the user terminal if the roaming application pre-recorded in the user terminal is executed; and a control server which generates response information about at least one extracted environment information and transmits the response information to the acquaintance agent terminal.
