The present invention relates to a mobile terminal and a method for controlling the same. The mobile terminal comprises: a touch screen for displaying at least one content on a screen; and a control unit for grasping a usage frequency of functions linked to the content, displaying statistics information showing a usage frequency of the grasped functions, and displaying items for performing each of the grasped functions. Statistics information showing a usage frequency of functions linked to at least one content is provided to a user, so the user can see the statistics information and know which functions are used for the content for a particular period of time.
