Element for absorbing an electromagnetic field. It consists of a wire 1, preferably a wire made of copper or another metal which is arranged in a V-shape by bending it or curving it approximately halfway along its length and which is incorporated in a mass 2 of cement or of concrete. Preferably, the said wire is protected, in particular by tin-plating. Application to protecting dwellings or other premises against the effect of electromagnetic fields. <IMAGE>
