A networking protection method and device, and a main convergence network element in networking. The networking comprises a first network layer, a second network layer and a convergence layer located between the first network layer and the second network layer. The method comprises: detecting whether a main link of one network layer of a main link of a first network layer and a main link of a second network layer and a convergence link fail simultaneously, if so, triggering a network element in a network layer, the main link of which has not failed to switch from the main link in the network layer which has not failed to a standby link, thereby realizing linkage protection for networking and avoiding the interruption of a service flow. |
