The apparatus has a mat or tray divisible in the region of longitudinal center line (16) through a detachable closure (18) like zip fastener, hook and loop fastener or buckle closure, on whole body of a patient (12). The cushion pads for head, back and legs of patient are detachably mounted on the mat or tray. The cushion pads (20,22) for head and back are divided according to the course of closure and are arranged on patient, according to the body shape of patient. The deck pads of breast region and waist region are supported on patient by arranging them across the cushion pads.
