An electronic parking brake (EPB) system is disclosed. The EPB system according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: an EPB actuator having a motor to rotate the motor to supply a parking braking force to a disk brake disposed on a wheel; a parking switch turned on and off by a driver; a current detection unit to detect a motor current flowing in the motor of the EPB actuator; a motor drive unit to drive the motor of the EPB actuator; and an electronic control unit which rotates the motor of the EPB actuator in one direction through the motor drive unit when the parking switch is turned on to perform a parking operation which supplies the parking braking force to the disk brake, calculates an impedance of the motor if a motor current value detected by the current detection unit is higher than a prescribed value during the parking operation, and determines whether the motor has a stuck fault based on the calculated impedance of the motor. |
