A main transportation drive mechanism provided with a main motor (42) drives a rack (14) on a first main transportation path (30) and a rack (14) on a second main transportation path (32) simultaneously in the forward direction (F) or simultaneously in the reverse direction (R). The rack (14) is sent along a first auxiliary transportation path (34) by a first auxiliary transportation drive mechanism (44). When the rack (14) arrives to a first receiving region (64), the rack (14) is further sent in the forward direction (F) along the second main transportation path (32) by the main transportation drive mechanism. Once the rack (14) leaves the first receiving region (64), the first claw member (50) of the first auxiliary transportation drive mechanism (44) is sent to a position between the first main transportation path (30) and the second main transportation path (32), and the rack (14) is driven by the main transportation drive mechanism so as to be transported in the reverse direction. The first claw member (50) is then sent to a position where engagement is possible with the rack (14) on the first main transportation path (30), the main transportation drive mechanism is driven for transport in the forward direction (F), and the rack (14) and the first claw member (50) are caused to engage each other. |
