Disclosed is a method for enabling variable compression ratio and variable air-fuel ratio for an internal combustion engine. The method comprises the steps of: dividing an air intake volume of a cylinder (1) into a first air intake volume and a second air intake volume; according to a design compression ratio of the first air intake volume, opening a throttle valve, the air intake volume reaching the first air intake volume; increasing the degree of opening of the throttle valve, so as to increase the air inflow, air intake starting in the second air intake volume, the second air intake volume going beyond the first air intake volume, the compression ratio increasing with the increase of the air intake volume, the compression density of a gas mixture increasing with the increase of the compression ratio, and the air-fuel ratio reducing with the increase of the compression density of the gas mixture; and according to a detonation signal which is fed back by a knock sensor, correcting, by an ECU, a duration of ignition in real time and controlling the fuel-injection quantity in real time, thereby ensuring the compression density required by the combustion of a lean mixture. |
