Disclosed is a method for saving a voice resource. The method comprises: an MME sends a notification message to an evolved base station (eNodeB), the notification message being used for instructing the eNodeB not to hand over, for a non-voice service, a UE from a long term evolution (LTE) network to a circuit switched (CS) domain of a second generation (2G) or third generation (3G) network, or when an MSC determines that a circuit switched domain service is a non-voice service, the MSC sends a bearer release message to the base station to instruct the base station to release a voice resource. In the method for saving a voice resource provided in the present invention, it can be achieved, in a process of implementing a non-voice type service, that a UE is not triggered to hand over from an LTE network to a CS domain of a 2G or 3G network or the UE is triggered to hand over from the LTE network to the CS domain of the 2G or 3G network; and when the UE moves to the CS domain of the 2G or 3G network, a voice resource reserved in the CS domain of the 2G or 3G network is released. |
