A rotary compressor having two cylinders is provided with a crankshaft (7) having a first eccentric section (7a) and a second eccentric section (7b), which are connected by a connection section (7e). The rotary compressor is also provided with two compression elements (4a, 4b) configured so that the rotation of the crankshaft (7) eccentrically rotates a first piston (8a) to compress operating fluid within a cylinder (6a), the first piston (8a) being inserted in the first eccentric section (7a). The first piston (8a) inserted in the first eccentric section (7a) is inserted and assembled thereto through the second eccentric section (7b). Recesses are formed in the outer-diameter portions of the first eccentric section (7a) and the second eccentric section (7b).
