The invention relates to metallurgy, in particular to a production of metal shots from a molten metal or an alloy by a casting. The claimed device for cooling metal melt fragments or alloy as obtained by passing a melt through a die comprises one or more nozzles for supplying a sprayed cooling air-droplet mixture as a spilling flow into a space under a crucible. Another aspect of this invention is a method for cooling melt fragments carried out by means of said device. The technical effect of the claimed invention is production of shot with a high degree of sphericity and fractional composition. |
