This disclosure relates to immunogenic compositions comprising an isolated immunogenic S. pneumoniae PcpA polypeptide, at least one additional antigen (such as for example, an isolated immunogenic S. pneumoniae polypeptide selected from the group consisting of the polyhistidine triad family of proteins (e.g., PhtD), and at least one isolated detoxified pneumolysin (e.g., PlyDl) and methods of using these compositions for preventing and treating diseases caused by S. pneumoniae.
