METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING LONG POLARIZER

Provided is a method for manufacturing a long polarizer with which it is possible to produce, in an inexpensive and highly productive manner, a polarizer as a final product that is consistent in quality and that makes it possible to enhance, and increase the number of, functions of an electronic device such as an image display device. The present invention provides a method for manufacturing a long polarizer having non-polarizing sections. This manufacturing method comprises: laminating a long surface-protective film having through-holes arranged at prescribed intervals in the longitudinal and/or width directions onto one surface of a long polarizer, and forming a long polarizer film laminate; partially decolorizing the polarizer through the through-holes in the surface-protective film and forming non-polarizing sections; and removing the surface-protective film.
