A system and method are provided for a food loading station located at a facility that processes food waste. The food loading station has a disposer that grinds food waste received through an intake of the disposer, the disposer being installed in a table of the food loading station and the disposer having a water inlet connected to a water supply such that a flow of water from the water supply is directed into the water inlet of the disposer. A visual detection system detects food waste. A controller in communication with the visual detection system activates the flow of water into the water inlet of the disposer when food waste is detected by the visual detection system. A storage tank receives a slurry of food waste and water from the disposer for storage.
