An image sensor comprises: a pixel array; a correlation dual sampling unit; an analog-digital conversion unit; and an image compensation unit. The pixel array has one or more unit pixels for generating accumulated electric charges corresponding to incident light in a photoelectric conversion section. The correlation dual sampling unit performs a correlation dual sampling operation for extracting an effective signal component based on a signal component and a reset component outputted from a unit pixel, reads out an image signal in a first readout section, and reads out an optical noise signal in a second readout section following the first readout section. The analog-digital conversion unit converts an image signal into a first digital signal, and converts an optical noise signal into a second digital signal. The image compensation unit generates a compensated image signal by reducing the second digital signal from the first digital signal.
