Provided are a method for allocating resource in a heterogeneous network environment and an apparatus thereof. In a heterogeneous network environment where small cells and macro cells are mixed, a macro base station divides an entire frequency bandwidth allocated to a pertinent macro cell into multiple partial frequency bandwidths, and then allocates a part of the multiple partial frequency bandwidths to the small cells included in the pertinent macro cell.
