The present invention relates to an electronic meter comprising a secondary display unit with a power line communications method. The electronic meter comprises: a meter such as a water meter or a gas meter; an I/O input unit which converts the analog information of the meter into digital information, and transmits the same to an operation unit; a CT positioned in a power line; an A/D converter which converts the output of the CT into a digital signal, and transmits the same to the operation unit; the operation unit which calculates the usage amount information of the meter by using the output signal of the I/O input unit and the output signal of the A/D converter, and transmits the usage amount information to a display unit and a first PLC module; the first PLC module which receives the usage amount information from the operation unit, and transmits the same to the secondary display unit through the power line; the display unit which receives and displays the usage amount information from the operation unit; a timer which offers time information; and a blocking filter which is installed in the power line, and removes noise. The electronic meter further comprises: a CB box which is connected to the power line; a second PLC module which is installed on the other end of the CB box, and receives the usage amount information through the power line from the PLC module of the electronic meter; a control unit which receives the usage amount information from the second PLC module, and enables the display unit to display the usage amount information; and the secondary display unit which includes the display unit receiving the usage amount information from the control unit and displaying the usage amount information. |
